Max Delgado, Executive Director of LearningWorks

Max Delgado joined LearingWorks in the fall of 2010, although he had been a fan of the program for several years prior, while serving as a dean at The Blake School. Max received his B.A. from Fordham University in 1999 and his M.F.A from the California College of the Arts, in Writing. Most of his career has been spent working as a school administrator and teacher, primarily at Independent Schools in California and Minnesota. Over the last decade he has served as the director of a student life program, a community service coordinator, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation counselor and organized many off-campus excursions for both high school and middle school students. Jaimee Bohning, Assistant Director

Jaimee Bohning joined the LearningWorks staff in June of 2007. She received her B.S. in Speech Communications and Women's Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude from MSU-Mankato in 2003. Following graduation, Jaimee worked in Special Education for Minneapolis Public Schools, as an Environmental Organizer for the Sierra Club, and as a coach for South Dakota State University's intercollegiate fastpitch team. Jaimee is licensed teacher in Secondary English Education and is completed her M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Minnesota in 2009. Throughout her career, Jaimee's research has been published and presented at multiple conferences, including the 2003 Undergradute Research Conference ("Unheard Voices of the Abortion Movement") and the 2005 National Case Research Conference ("Women's Studies and Issues: A Midwestern University's Strategic Analysis"). Jaimee is also the Head Coach for the Blake Varsity Fastpitch team and Head Coach for the Blake Junior Varsity Basketball team. Contact Jaimee at 612-423-2452 or .

Michael W.L. Johnson – Student Services Director

Michael Johnson, LearningWorks class of 2002, The Blake School class of 2006, taught LearningWorks during the summers of 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. She joined the LearningWorks staff in May of 2010.

While at Blake, Michael co-founded and lead STEPPS, served as a student voice on the diversity planning and strategic committee, and won the Chub Bettel’s Scholar and Athena Award for accomplishments in athletics. At Carleton College, Michael earned a B.A. in Psychology, concentrated in Women's and Gender Studies, was captain of the softball team, and was engaged in campus organizations such as Black Student Alliance, Coalition of Women of Color, and the Gender and Sexuality Center. She spent a semester abroad in Denmark to study “Psychology: Children in a Multicultural Context," working with Kindergarten children at a forest satellite daycare in Copenhagen.

Outside of LearningWorks, Michael can be found advising the Blake dance group, “STEPPS,” working in the Office of Equity and Community Engagement, working with Cornerstone, mentoring adolescents, exercising, cooking, and engaging in social justice community groups.
