Now more than 111 years old, The Blake School remains committed to its mission of providing students with an excellent, academically challenging education in a community founded on a set of shared values respect, love of learning, integrity, intellectual and ethical courage, and pluralism.
The school’s three campuses bring together nearly 1,400 inquisitive students, drawn from 55 communities in the Twin Cities area. The students are served by 350 outstanding faculty and staff. Together, these almost 1,800 individuals create a diverse, inclusive and supportive community grounded in principles of empathy and equity.
Blake has many outstanding attributes. We offer small class sizes that allow teachers to give personal attention to each and every child. We pride ourselves on our superb faculty and a nationally renowned professional development program. We feature a challenging, coherent curriculum progressing from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. And we provide our students with a wide variety of extracurricular activities, ranging from sports such as hockey, lacrosse, football, basketball, soccer and fencing to drama, music and other artistic and literary endeavors.
We are proud of our long history and our firm commitment to Blake’s founding principles. But we continue to develop new programs designed to serve students in a rapidly changing world. For example, Blake recently joined the Global Online Academy, a consortium linking more than a dozen schools ranging from Minnesota to Indonesia. The Global Online Academy provides students not only with the finest instruction but also with the opportunity to collaborate with peers around the globe.
Above all, we are committed to developing students who are lifelong learners devoted to the highest ethical principles. Blake alumni go on to myriad amazing careers and lives. They have made and are continuing to make important contributions not only in the Twin Cities but throughout the world.
